Easter & Passover
This weekend is a holy time for two of the world's religions. Christians are celebrating Easter and Jews are celebrating Passover. These two holidays have something in common, they celebrate freedom. The Jewish People celebrate freedom from slavery in Egypt and Christians celebrate the fact that they believe Christ died for their sins to set them free.
Why am I posting about this here? How can we apply it to our lives? What old behaviors do we need to let go of?
How many of us constantly point out what children do wrong? Their mistakes? How about feeding them or putting them in front of a TV whenever they are bored or annoying us by complaining? Do we teach our children to escape anxiety and frustration? Do we accept where our children are? or do we have expectation that they aren't able to meet yet?
Do you take time to take care of yourself so that you can be there for your children or the children you teach?
What about letting the extra criticism and pressure we put on children die? Let's allow positivity, creativity, and individuality to rise!
Let's give children the tools they need to be confident adults who are empowered to be themselves. YogaKids classes can help your child connect with their breath and their bodies. It can also help them learn using Howard Gardener's Multiple Intelligences. Yoga gives children safety to explore different things within the boundaries of their mat. Tutoring one on one or in a small group with others that are working on the same skill, helps children build confidence. A tutor can figure out which methodology works best for the child and meet them where they are at.
Is your child on an Individualized Education Plan? What does individualized mean? It means that the plan is written based on what your child needs. This includes not only specialized instruction, but also accommodations so that the child can access the grade level curriculum.
Message me for more information about tutoring, YogaKids Classes, or for help with your child's Individualized Education Plan. At the moment, I'm winding down for the summer, but will have openings for all three beginning in September. In the meantime, remember to build your children up. Build upon their strengths. Find ways for them to show you what they know. Most importantly, remind them to breathe!
